Extraordinary Sessions since 1940


The Kentucky General Assembly sits in regular session in even-numbered years for a period of no more than sixty legislative days, adjourning by no later than April 15,  and in odd-numbered years for a period of no more than thirty days, adjourning by no later than March 30. Under Section 80 of the Kentucky Constitution, the Governor of Kentucky may convene the General Assembly in extraordinary session by a proclamation, "stating the subjects to be considered, and no others shall be considered."
