AN ACT relating to concealed weapons.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 403 to allow a person protected by an emergency protective order or a domestic violence order to carry, if authorized by the issuing court, a concealed deadly weapon for a period of up to 90 days, after the sheriff has performed a criminal background check and fingerprinted and photographed the person.
HB 351 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM - Delete original provision; amend KRS 527.020 to provide a temporary exemption from the prohibition of carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a license for persons protected by an emergency protective order or a domestic violence order.
HFA (1, J. Jenkins) - Insert provisions to amend KRS 403.740 and 403.750 to allow a court to direct the care, custody, or control of pets in domestic violence orders.
HFA (2, G. Watkins) - Insert provisions to amend KRS 527.020(5) to add an Attorney General, assistant attorney general, deputy attorney general, or assistant deputy attorney general to the list of licensed persons who may carry a concealed deadly weapon at all times, within limitations.
HFA (3, M. Marzian) - Insert provision to provide additional criminal immunity to persons carrying concealed under the bill who use deadly force to prevent the commission of an act of domestic violence or abuse.
HFA (4, G. Watkins) - Delete original provision; create a new section of KRS 403.715 to 403.785 to allow a person protected by an emergency protective order or a domestic violence order to apply for a temporary carry conceal permit.
