AN ACT relating to school safety.
Amend KRS 158.148 to require the discipline code to prohibit harassment, intimidation, bullying, or cyberbullying against students and define term; amend KRS 525.070 to expand the crime of harassment to include harassment, intimidation, bullying, or cyberbulling as defined in KRS 158.148 by students on school property and at school-sponsored events.
HB 370 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, M. Harmon) - Retain original provisions except clarify that a code of acceptable behavior and discipline adopted by a local board of education shall not prohibit any student from expressing their personal religious beliefs as long as that expression does not include physically harming a student or damaging a student's property.
HFA (2, T. Moore) - Retain original provisions but clarify that nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit or deny the civil expression by any student of religiously based opinions on issues related to sexual orientation.
HFA (3, M. Harmon) - Retain original provisions except add amendment of KRS 237.115 relating to carrying and possession of weapons to permit a person with a concealed deadly weapon license to carry that weapon without limitation on the property of a publicly funded college, university, postsecondary education institution, including vocational schools and community colleges, specify that the provisions of KRS 237.106 relating to possession of firearms in a vehicle on applies on such property.
