AN ACT relating to Kentucky National Guard and Reserve death benefits, declaring an emergency, and making an appropriation therefor.
Amend KRS 61.315 to require that the State Treasurer pay death benefits in the amount of $75,000 when a member of the Kentucky National Guard or Reserve dies on federal active duty; make an appropriation in the amount of $1,050,000 to carry out the provisions of the Act; make amendment to KRS 61.315 retroactive to July 1, 2002; declare an EMERGENCY.
HB 27 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Delete the provisions of the bill; require that the State Treasurer pay death benefits in the amount of $75,000 when a member of the United States Armed Forces dies on active duty, including a member of the National Guard or Reserve who dies on federal active duty; make an appropriation in the amount of $3,500,000; make amend retroactive to July 1, 2002; EMERGENCY.
