HB 209/HM (BR 837) - T. Edmonds, J. Carr
AN ACT relating to insurance.
For a child who is eligible for coverage under his or her parent's family health insurance plan up to age twenty five (25), amend KRS 304.17-310 to extend eligibility for a time equal to his or her service in the active military.
HB 209 - AMENDMENTS
HCA (1, T. Edmonds) - Make provision applicable regardless of whether the person marries while serving in the active military.
HCA (2, T. Edmonds) - Restrict extension of coverage to a maximum of two years.
HFA (1, T. Edmonds) - Create a new section of KRS Chapter 304.17A to require health benefit plans issued or renewed on or after the effective date of this Act that cover dependents enrolled in a institution of higher education until a specific age; extend coverage beyond the specific age for up to two years if the dependent's education is interrupted by active military service.
