AN ACT relating to jailers' salaries.
Amend KRS 441.245 to provide for a minimum jailer salary of $20,000 annually, and provide for upward salary adjustments in response to the consumer price index.
SB 396 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, D. Kelly) - Remove provision to mandate that jailer's salary be adjusted for an annual upward change in the consumer price index if another county official's salary receives a similar adjustment in the same county.
HFA (1, D. Ford) - Amend KRS 441.245 to require counties to pay each jailer a minimum salary of $20,000. Provide that jailers who do not run full service jails have a salary that will equal the previous year's, a salary that may be set over $20,000, and one that may be increased per the consumer price index requirements; amend KRS 64.527 to accommodate difference between jailers who run full service jails and those who do not.
