804 KAR 4:050. Rectifying plants, bottling permitted.

      RELATES TO: KRS 243.030, 243.120

      STATUTORY AUTHORITY: KRS 241.060

NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: KRS 243.120 limits a distiller who is also a rectifier from bottling any product not made at its own distillery. This administrative regulation allows a distiller who is also a rectifier to ship the product from their distillery to their rectifying plant to be bottled. This is necessary in the instances where a distiller wishes to blend whiskey that has been produced at its own distillery with whiskeys produced at other distilleries.

Section 1. Distillers, who have also qualified as rectifiers with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the federal government, may bottle in their rectifying plants spirits produced at their distilleries. (ABC 3:50; 1 Ky.R. 355; eff. 2-5-75.)
