603 KAR 7:060. Urbanized area transportation planning.

STATUTORY AUTHORITY: KRS 174.080
NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: 23 USC Section 134, 49 CFR Part 613, 23 CFR Part 450, the 1972 Federal-Aid Highways Act, and the 1978 Surface Transportation Assistance Act require that each urbanized area, as a condition of receipt of federal capital or operating assistance, have a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process that results in plans and programs consistent with the comprehensively planned development of the urbanized areas. These plans and programs support transportation improvements and subsequent project development activities in the area. The function of the administrative regulation is to implement the procedures required to administer the program in accordance with applicable state and federal law and regulations.
Section 1. In order to facilitate the administration of this program the following are adopted by reference:
(1) 49 CFR Part 613.
(2) 23 CFR Part 450.
