302 KAR 10:090. Unclassified eggs.

      NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: This administrative regulation defines specifications and labeling requirements for unclassified eggs.


      Section 1. Unclassified eggs mean the general run of edible eggs as they come from the producer not sized or graded, but shall not consist of eggs unfit for human food in whole or in part, addled or moldy, containing black rot, white rot, or blood ring, adherent yolks, bloody whites, incubated beyond the blood ring stage, or consisting to any extent of filthy decomposed substance.


      Section 2. (1) All unclassified eggs sold in cartons must be plainly marked "unclassified" on the carton with letters not less than one-fourth (1/4) inch in height.

      (2) All unclassified eggs sold in bulk shall be plainly marked "unclassified" on a placard with letters not less than one-half (1/2) inch, in height. (Agr: Egg:U120, Us10; 1 Ky.R. 737; eff. 5-14-75.)
