Jurisdiction: Established as a standing committee of the House pursuant to House Rules and Committees, adopted during 2001 Regular Session. Approved as Interim Joint Committee by LRC in February, 1999. Jurisdiction includes: matters pertaining to senior citizens; problems of aging; military affairs and civil defense; national guard; veterans; veterans rights, benefits and education; veterans nursing homes; military memorials and cemeteries; fire prevention and protection; foods, drugs and poisons; trailer park regulations; hotel and restaurant regulations as they pertain to public health; sanitation plants; garbage and refuse disposal.
