Employee photo Meet Suzanne Wilkins. If you’ve ever seen a bundle of LRC tour packets being shipped over to the Capitol Rotunda, chances are Suzanne helped put them together. The long-time employee of the LRC Project Center can also be found processing legislative citations for schools, answering phones in the LRC Message Center and other offices, proofreading, and helping citizens learn the status of bills during session. “You have to do whatever is needed, when needed,” said Suzanne, who has worked full-time at LRC since 2005. “You have to be flexible.” Suzanne brings decades of professional experience to LRC, having spent her early work years on a hospital switchboard in Murray while attending school at Murray State and later transitioning to the purchasing division at UK. She came to LRC after spending several years in the office of the former Allied Signal plant in Frankfort. “I came here and worked two sessions in the Project Center,” she said, “then I was hired full-time working in the Project Center.” Session is probably the busiest time of year for her, she says, although she adds, “I seem to always be busy.” When she’s not at work, Suzanne says she enjoys outdoor sports with her family and also enjoys sewing and quilting, “when I can find time.”
