HB 201 (BR 12) - D. Mayfield, B. Yonts, A. Webb-Edgington
AN ACT relating to military service.
Amend KRS 40.353 to broaden the eligibility criteria for the Kentucky Medal for Freedom to include service members who were born in Kentucky or have a spouse or parent who is a Kentucky resident at the time of the member's death; designate the Act as "Staff Sergeant James Hunter Act."
HB 201 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions, except include in eligible recipients members of the Armed Forces, a state National Guard, or a Reserve Component who was buried in Kentucky on or after July 15, 2008, and have a surviving spouse or parent who is a Kentucky resident; remove prior eligibility language related solely to birth or a surviving spouse or parent.
