When you arrive this fall
for NALIT's
annual PDS, you’ll discover that any
time of year is a great time to be in
Louisville. You won’t have to look far to
find treasures in the city’s vibrant
downtown, historic neighborhoods, and lush
parks.
You will get to see one of the most
picturesque sights in the world of sports:
the twin spires of
Churchill Downs, home of
the Kentucky Derby. You can also enjoy
attractions such as the
Louisville Zoo, the
Louisville Slugger Museum,
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, the
Speed Art Museum, and
the
Louisville Science Center.
You’ll also have a chance to tour
Louisville’s newest attraction—recently
opened by one of the city’s most famous
native sons—the
Muhammad Ali Center.
Louisville is home to an exciting arts scene
that includes an eclectic mix of musicians,
artists, and craft designers. The performing
arts are well represented by the city’s
acclaimed orchestra, ballet, regional
repertory theatre, children’s theatre,
opera, and dinner theatre.
You’ll enjoy taking in all the sights and
sounds of Louisville’s bustling downtown,
which boasts an array of shops and
restaurants. Downtown is also home to
Fourth Street Live, an entertainment and retail
complex in the heart of the city.
If you want to enjoy the natural wonders of
the area while in downtown, stroll over to
Waterfront Park, a wonderland along the
banks of the Ohio River that draws people
together for scenic views and a range of
recreational activities. You can also enjoy
the magnificence of the river by taking a
step back in time for a cruise on the city’s
historic steamboat, the
Belle of Louisville.
There’s a lot to enjoy in Louisville. You’ll
leave knowing why visitors keep coming back
to enjoy the city’s charm, its energy, and
its world-class hospitality.
